iPALS members participate in inclusive activities with Wheeler's special needs students both for fun and to enhance learning for all! Past group actiivities include attending sports events with students from the special needs classes and hosting a pre-game party. Students with special talents may arrange to visit a class to share their skills and create stimulating, memorable moments. For one memorable iPALS class visit, the homecoming queen brought her guitar and lead a sing-along, which was so enjoyed by Ms. Rich's students that she was invited back for a holiday performance. Group members are encouraged to work with Ms. Rich, Ms. Knowles, and Mr. Case to plan and implement new inclusive opportunities. iPALS members may volunteer for community service hours working with the special needs teachers or their students during lunch or at another time.
